UGI Expands With Orion – Requests Custom
Development

UGI Utilities, Inc. of North-Eastern
Pennsylvania has expanded their deployment of Orion’s GPS
Fleet Management Services to include their Service Mark,
McHugh, Devault, and Thermmax HVAC divisions.
With this additional deployment, Orion will also be
providing UGI with custom dispatching specific software and
route optimization capabilities.
Since services commenced in June 2007,
UGI has generated significant benefits from the Orion GPS
Fleet Management Program. For UGI, Orion services have
demonstrated a fuel saving of $57 per month per vehicle, a
reduction in idle time of 59%, and a reduction in excessive
speeding of 89%.
“The custom development work which
Orion is completing for UGI only further highlights the
capabilities of our company” states Amol Sidanale, chief
developer for Orion Security. “We always encourage our
clients to request customization so that we can further
increase their return on investment.” With the addition of
the dispatching software and route optimization engine, both
UGI and Orion foresee a significant decrease in miles traveled
per job, only further increasing the fuel savings through
Orion services.
